Rachel Grae Soars in New Break-Up Ballad in new releases

Madison Beer, Benson Boone and Childish Gambino lead the charge this week with new releases but Rachel Grae releases a new ballad worthy of a listen.

Rachel Grae’s new song, “The Best,’ has all the makings of a classic break-up anthem. Along the same vein as her previous single, “Do Better,” released mere months ago in April 2024, this latest track finds the singer-songwriter singing about love and a relationship gone awry. But where “Do Better” has a saccharine feeling that makes you want to get on the dance floor, “The Best” is a soulful ballad suited for belting out on your favorite stage — whether that is karaoke night at the bar or in your car with the windows rolled up.

Exploring themes of empowerment and recovery following a heartbreak, “The Best” is a tongue-in-cheek anthem for everyone finding themselves after leaving a relationship. It’s easy to lose yourself after you’ve given so much of your time to another person, but the best feeling is rediscovering your own worth and power after coming out the other side,” Grae explains.  Successfully showcasing that emotional intensity, the most iconic moment in the song is when the gentle piano and soaring strings build to a powerful crescendo and Grae sings, “I’d wish you the best, but you’ve already had it.” The track is produced by Zach Foty and co-written by Rachel Grae and Max Margolis.
