Celebrated New York indie-rock trio Yeah Yeah Yeahs are stripping down – musically, that is – for a special 2025 tour that will put a new spin on their catalog. Dubbed the Hidden In Pieces Tour, the summer trek finds Karen O, Nick Zinner, and Brian Chase re-imagining their greatest hits and deep cuts with piano and string arrangements in intimate theaters. In honor of the band’s 25th anniversary, they’ll perform residency-style shows in smaller venues, offering fans a rare chance to experience the songs in a whole new light. “We’ll be playing songs that are rarely (if ever) performed, alongside all-time favorites with new arrangements to delight,” the band said in a statement.
The tour launches June 16, 2025 in Manchester, UK at the O2 Apollo and includes two nights at London’s storied Royal Albert Hall on June 18 and 19. After the UK kickoff, Yeah Yeah Yeahs will hop across the Atlantic and continue the run in North America. The itinerary features multi-night stands in major cities — Mexico City (June 30 & July 1 at Teatro Metropolitán), Los Angeles (three nights July 9–11 at the Orpheum Theatre), San Francisco (July 14–15 at Davies Symphony Hall), Nashville (July 18–19 at Ryman Auditorium), Chicago (July 22–23 at The Chicago Theatre), and a finale of two shows in New York City at the Beacon Theatre on July 29 and 30. At these shows, the indie icons will be accompanied by a live string section and acoustic instruments, reinventing fan favorites like “Maps” and “Heads Will Roll” with orchestral flair.
Tickets for the Hidden In Pieces Tour go on sale to the public Friday, March 21 at 10 a.m. local time. Fans can access a pre-sale starting March 19, using codes provided on the band’s website. In a nice touch of community support, a portion of proceeds from the Los Angeles dates will be donated to the SoCal Fire Fund to aid those affected by recent fires in the area. This upcoming run marks Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ first major outing since the release of their 2022 album Cool It Down, and it celebrates a quarter-century of their genre-blending career. For longtime devotees and new listeners alike, the Hidden In Pieces shows promise an unforgettable trip through the avant-garde soundscape – up close and with a fresh twist on every note.
