Suki Waterhouse‘s double album, Memoir of a Sparkle Muffin, is out Sept 10. The LP is named after an Australian spider. The British model turned indie rock star told Rolling Stone that the album centers around owning her story and dealing with fame, both of which she needs a killer instinct for.
“I came across the Sparklemuffin — which is wildly colored, does this razzle-dazzle dance, and its mate will cannibalize it if she doesn’t approve of the dance,” Waterhouse stated. “It’s a metaphor for the dance of life we’re all in. The title felt hilarious, ridiculous, and wonderful to me.”
Waterhouse finished the album earlier this year while pregnant with her daughter with her finance actor, Robert Pattinson. The lead single, “Supersad,” is already out; it’s the second song of 18 tracks. Recently, Waterhouse achieved a dream gig of hers. She opened for Taylor Swift’s London dates on her Eras Tour. Now, with the “opportunity of a lifetime” behind her, she will focus on promoting her upcoming release.
