An unexpected collaboration has emerged in the music industry. Acclaimed soul artist John Legend has enlisted producer Sufjan Stevens to work on a new album inspired by his experiences as a father. The album, titled My Favorite Dream, will include nine original tracks and three bonus covers of Fisher-Price songs.
The album is full of “sing-along and lullabies” for families. “When I was thinking about who could bring these songs to life with me, he was the first and only choice,” Legend said about Stevens. “I just felt [Stevens’] musical approach would be perfect for building arrangements and soundscapes to complement the songs,” Legend said. On another personal note, the lead single ‘L-O-V-E’ released (Aug 9) features vocals from two of Legend’s and his wife, Chrissy Teigen. The full album is out on August 30.
