Britpop band Oasis announces a reunion tour, ending a 15-year hiatus. In 2009, the “Wonderwall” band broke up due to infighting between singers Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher. The brothers will reunite for tour dates starting next July.
Before the breakup, tensions were high, with both brothers publicly insulting each other to the press. “People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer,” Noel Gallagher said in a statement. Gallagher accused his younger brother of being hungover before a set, which led to a show cancellation. Liam refuted this accusation and later sued, citing other events that catalyzed the band’s dissolution.
It appears that the feud is over. Over the past decade, Noel and Liam have spoken about repairing their relationship. The Internet is losing their minds and purchasing the tickets to see this reconciliation for themselves.
The guitar band will play 14 dates in Wales, England, Scotland and Ireland next July and August, Oasis said on Tuesday. Tickets go on sale at 9 a.m. Saturday.
