Nicki Minaj covers the December issue of Vogue

Nicki Minaj graces the cover of Vogue’s December 2023 issue, marking the anticipation of her highly-awaited fifth studio album, “Pink Friday 2,” set to release on December 8. As the best-selling female rapper of all time, Minaj shares her insights on motherhood, her journey to success, and the creative process behind “Pink Friday 2.” Captured by the lens of renowned photographer Norman Jean Roy, Minaj radiates elegance in a stunning Valentino Haute Couture ensemble complemented by Irene Neuwirth earrings. In an exclusive conversation with Vogue, Minaj reveals her newfound perspective on accepting the uncontrollable aspects of life. She expresses, “The notion of embracing what we cannot change never resonated with me until now. Longing for absolute control only leads to unhappiness. So, when I find myself attempting to dominate every aspect, I remind myself of what truly matters. The sight of my son’s face illuminates my entire being. He remains blissfully unaware of the challenges I face as both a mother and an artist.”

In her feature with Vogue, Nicki Minaj uncovers her vulnerability, candidly discussing her past battle with Percocet addiction, her journey through motherhood, and her marriage to Kenneth Petty. Nicki’s personal encounter with addiction began when she witnessed the destructive path her late father succumbed to, transitioning from lacing weed with crack to stealing his children’s belongings to finance his crack addiction. Reflecting on a pivotal moment during her early career, Minaj discloses her struggle with Percocet addiction, which developed after receiving a prescription for the drug to alleviate menstrual cramps. “No one informed me about the narcotic properties and its addictive nature. Fortunately, I was able to regain control,” she candidly shares. “Nevertheless, once an addict, always an addict. Having experienced addiction firsthand, I now approach every decision with heightened caution.”

Nicki also gifted her fans with her first, “73 Questions with Vogue”
