The country music world gathered together to celebrate and honor the top artists and performances of the year at the annual CMT Music Awards. It was a night of many unforgettable moments, including Kelsea Ballerini’s emotional tribute to the victims of a mass shooting in her hometown of Nashville, “Tonight’s broadcast is dedicated to the ever-growing list of families, friends, survivors, witnesses, and responders whose lives continue to forever be changed by gun violence,” said the singer.
The CMT Music Awards are always filled with star-studded performances and competitive awards categories. This year was no exception, with superstars like Gwen Stefani, Carrie Underwood, LeAnn Rimes, Keith Urban and pop/rock’s darling Alanis Morissette. Shania Twain took home the 2023 “CMT Equal Play Award,” while Stevie Ray Vaughan and Lynyrd Skynyrd were honored with tribute performances.
