Jennie and Doechii Team Up for “ExtraL”

Jennie has released ExtraL, a new collaboration with Grammy-winning rapper Doechii, ahead of her debut solo album Ruby, set to drop on March 7. The track merges hip-hop and pop influences, marking another step in Jennie’s solo career outside of BLACKPINK.

Produced by Dem Jointz, ExtraL thrives on swagger and self-assurance. Doechii’s razor-sharp delivery meets Jennie’s effortless confidence as they trade verses about power, success, and defying expectations. The chorus—“Do my ladies run this?”—lands as a declaration rather than a question, cementing the track’s anthemic energy.. The Cole Bennett-directed music video doubles down on the attitude, featuring the duo in stark, high-contrast visuals, dressed in bold, structured silhouettes as they command the frame.

Jennie has described Ruby as an opportunity to explore different musical styles on her own terms. Alongside ExtraL, the album includes collaborations with Childish Gambino, Dua Lipa, FKJ, and Dominic Fike, signaling a diverse sonic direction.

Doechii, fresh off her Grammy win for Best Rap Album, continues to expand her reach with this high-profile collaboration. Known for her genre-fluid style, the rapper has built a reputation for seamlessly blending rap, R&B, and electronic influences.

Following Ruby’s release, Jennie will debut The Ruby Experience, a series of live performances in Los Angeles, New York, and Seoul. She is also set to make her first solo appearance at Coachella before reuniting with BLACKPINK for a limited stadium tour this summer.
