Khruangbin Expands 2025 Tour in Support of A La Sala

New dates, festival appearances, and a Grammy spotlight

Houston’s celebrated psychedelic funk trio Khruangbin has announced an expanded lineup of 2025 tour dates in support of their critically acclaimed fourth album, A La Sala. Beginning on April 9 in Grand Prairie, Texas, the tour traverses dozens of cities across North America, including Miami, Seattle, Denver, and Boston. Along the way, Khruangbin will make stops at major festivals such as BottleRock Napa Valley and Lightning in a Bottle before wrapping up in September at the Bourbon & Beyond Festival in Louisville, Kentucky.

The tour announcement comes amid a landmark year for Khruangbin, who have been nominated for Best New Artist at the 67th Grammy Awards. While an unconventional choice for the category given their 14-year career, the nod underscores their newfound acclaim and success in capturing fresh audiences with their eclectic sound. This Grammy nod cements their reputation as one of the most exciting acts of the moment.

Released in April 2024, A La Sala reflects the band’s artistic evolution, offering a quieter, more introspective sound compared to their earlier work. Tracks like “May Ninth” and “Three from Two” have drawn praise for their subtle emotional depth and imaginative scope. Laura Lee, the band’s bassist, described the album as “a much-needed moment of quiet in a chaotic world.”

Known for their hypnotic and transportive live performances, Khruangbin’s upcoming shows promise to be unforgettable. Special guests such as Helado Negro and John Carroll Kirby will join the band on select dates, adding even more texture to the experience. Before hitting North America, the trio will embark on an international leg, performing in Australia, New Zealand, and Europe, with festival stops in Scandinavia and the UK.

What sets Khruangbin apart is their ability to blend global influences seamlessly. Guitarist Mark Speer’s wide-ranging sonic explorations—from Thai pop to Afrobeat—combine with Laura Lee’s rhythmic basslines and Donald “DJ” Johnson’s percussive foundation to create a sound that defies categorization. “We’ve always let the music speak for itself,” said Lee, emphasizing the band’s focus on authenticity and innovation.

Tickets for the North American leg of the tour went on sale Friday, January 17, at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster. Don’t miss the opportunity to experience Khruangbin’s magnetic artistry live as they bring A La Sala to audiences across the globe. With a Grammy nod and an ever-growing fanbase, Khruangbin’s 2025 tour is poised to be a defining chapter in their journey.
