Rooney reveals headlining tour dates


news_rooney2Rooney, who revealed recently that it will release its new album, Eureka, June 8, will hit the road in support of the new disc, starting June 16, in San Diego, California.

The band, who will headline the five-week-long tour before hitting the road in support of Hanson in late July, will be supported on its headlining tour by Black Gold and The Young Veins.

Rooney’s headlining tour will conclude in Hackensack, New Jersey, July 19. They will then join Hanson two days later for a tour that will keep Rooney on the road through August 28.  Details about Rooney’s tour dates in support of Hanson can be found here.

Hanson to tour North America


news_hansonHanson announced Monday (April 26) the itinerary for the first two legs of its tour of North America in support of its fifth record, Shout It Out, which hits store shelves June 8, via the band’s own label, 3CG Records.

The band, which released the single “Thinking ‘Bout Somethin’” to digital outlets Friday (April 23), will kick off the first leg of the tour July 21, in Buffalo, New York. Rooney will support Hanson on the first leg of the tour.

The second leg will kick off September 14, in Mesa, Arizona. The band will be supported by A Rocket To The Moon on the second leg.

news_rooneyRooney has announced that it will release its new album, Eureka, June 8, via California Dreaming Records through Warner Music Group’s Independent Label Group. This is the group’s third album, a follow-up to their debut, Rooney, and their sophomore set, Calling The World

Green River Ordinance will hit the road in support of its Virgin Records debut, Out of My Hands, and will release its new single, “On Your Own,” which impacts radio April 12. The tour will kick off March 26, on Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and conclude May 6, in Los Angeles, California…

Billy Idol has announced plans to tour North America this summer, and he will do so with a new band, which will include his longtime guitarist Steve Stevens, Stephen McGrath on bass and Derek Sherinian on keyboards, Idol will be joined on this trek by acclaimed guitarist Billy Morrison and drummer Jeremy Colson. The tour will kick off with a pair of shows in Russia, June 5 and 7, and will tour Europe through July 11. North American dates will be announced in the coming weeks…

Social Distortion has announced that it is parting ways with drummer Atom Willard due to “many foreseeable scheduling conflicts with his band Angels And Airwaves.” The band added, “We know this was not an easy decision for him, but Atom is an incredible individual and we’re all better people for having him on board while we did. Atom will be sorely missed, but we wish him the very best.” No replacement drummer was announced at press time…

Band of Horses will release Infinite Arms, May 18, via Brown Records/Fat Possum Records/Columbia Records. The band will support its third full-length LP with an extensive tour that kicks off March 15, in Boulder, Colorado; moves to Europe in April, beginning with an April 8 show in Paris, France; and returns to North America April 23 through May 31; before returning to the UK for shows in Bangor, Ireland (June 5), London, England (June 9), and Glasgow, Scotland (June 12). Baaba Maal, whose acclaimed new album, Television, hit store shelves last year, will embark on his first tour of North America in four years when he begins his trek April 4, at the Zacatecas Festival in Zacatecas City, Mexico.

He will remain on the road through a May 7 performance at the Lake Eden Festival in Black Mountain, North Carolina.

Television is a collaboration primarily between Baaba Maal and singer Sabina Sciubba and keyboardist Didi Gutman, both members of New York’s Brazilian Girls.
