Billy Idol has announced plans to tour North America this summer, and he will do so with a new band, which will include his longtime guitarist Steve Stevens, Stephen McGrath on bass and Derek Sherinian on keyboards, Idol will be joined on this trek by acclaimed guitarist Billy Morrison and drummer Jeremy Colson. The tour will kick off with a pair of shows in Russia, June 5 and 7, and will tour Europe through July 11. North American dates will be announced in the coming weeks…
Social Distortion has announced that it is parting ways with drummer Atom Willard due to “many foreseeable scheduling conflicts with his band Angels And Airwaves.” The band added, “We know this was not an easy decision for him, but Atom is an incredible individual and we’re all better people for having him on board while we did. Atom will be sorely missed, but we wish him the very best.” No replacement drummer was announced at press time…
Band of Horses will release Infinite Arms, May 18, via Brown Records/Fat Possum Records/Columbia Records. The band will support its third full-length LP with an extensive tour that kicks off March 15, in Boulder, Colorado; moves to Europe in April, beginning with an April 8 show in Paris, France; and returns to North America April 23 through May 31; before returning to the UK for shows in Bangor, Ireland (June 5), London, England (June 9), and Glasgow, Scotland (June 12). Baaba Maal, whose acclaimed new album, Television, hit store shelves last year, will embark on his first tour of North America in four years when he begins his trek April 4, at the Zacatecas Festival in Zacatecas City, Mexico.
He will remain on the road through a May 7 performance at the Lake Eden Festival in Black Mountain, North Carolina.
Television is a collaboration primarily between Baaba Maal and singer Sabina Sciubba and keyboardist Didi Gutman, both members of New York’s Brazilian Girls.
