New Prince EP Leads To Legal Debacle

Yesterday Prince fans were led into a frenzy when it was announced that a new 6 song EP of unreleased material from the late singer would drop this Friday in the form of Deliverance.

Things took a turn for the worse however when it was revealed that Prince's estate and Paisley Park had filed a lawsuit against sound engineer George Ian Boxill over control of the songs. The lawsuit claims Boxill resisted turn the tracks from 2006–2008 over as a violation of contract with Prince

The songs will be released via Rogue Music Alliance. Boxill can even be on record saying, "When considering how to release this important work, we decided to go independent because that's what Prince would have wanted."

What do you think of the messy situation?
