Is it really that surprising to hear that Ed Sheeran's latest album Divide now holds the current title as the best-selling release thus far in 2017? The statistics are in at Billboard and Nielsen Music have revealed that the UK- singer sold 322,000 copies in the U.S. in the week ending March 9. The talent leads the pack with only one week of sales counted.
The runner-up is Bruno Mars, who has sold 230,000 copies in 2017 with 24K Magic. Ed has passed his own record in that the new album exceeds 2014’s x and its first week album sales. On top of this, Sheeran's "Shape Of You" has stayed atop the Billboard Hot 100 for it's seventh week.
