In an announcement from the Recording Academy we have now learned that some veteran musicians will be taking the stage at Los Angeles' Staples Center on February 12th. Those veterans include Adele, Carrie Underwood, John Legend, Keith Urban, and Metallica and the group has 29 Grammy award between them.
Metallica had this to say:
"First, it was a total honor to be nominated, but now this?!!? We’re beyond excited that we have been invited to perform on the 59th annual Grammy Awards telecast ... It's been three years since we were lucky enough to participate in the awards show when we last performed with world-renowned Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang and we’re thrilled to be asked back."
Adele is expected to get everyone talking however as she is set to perform a track from 25, the best selling album of 2016. On the award side of things, this year's show sees Beyoncé with 9 nominations and Drake, Rihanna and Kanye West with 8 nominations. The James Corden-hosted event will be a meeting of the stars for sure.
Additional performers will be revealed in the near future.
What do you think of the veterans?
