Maroon 5 Recruits Kendrick Lamar For "Don't Wanna Know"

A dream combo of music is about to happen on Maroon 5's newest single "Don't Wanna Know." The massive pop group decided to try and mend genre worlds by including hip hop god Kendrick Lamar. The track will arrive midnight ET, so set your alarm.

The new music is the first since the band's album V and the first greatest hits compilation Singles. Guitarist James Valentine once spoke on the upcoming music:

" make a more traditional record next... like the way we made Songs About Jane, just sitting in a room with our instruments and slugging it out. It’s been fun to experiment on the last couple of records with the more electronic sounds, but maybe we’ve gone as far as we can with that for now."

On October 14th the band will premiere the music video for the "Don't Wanna Know" on the Today Show. The video was directed by David Dobkin, who has worked with Maroon 5 before on their visual for "Sugar." The hype around the track is already so incredibly massive, it will be intriguing to see if the music will live up to it. We're sure it will.

Maroon 5 is currently out on a headlining tour with Tove Lo and will tour North America again in February and March with Tinashe.
