There’s been a storm brewing in the media recently involving Taylor Swift and Tom Hiddleston and their supposed new romance soon after Swift’s breakup with electronic dance music powerhouse Calvin Harris. However, now we might be seeing a little bit of Harris’ feelings on the swift romantic switch in the new track “Olé.” The new single by BRIT Award-nominated UK platinum-selling singer, songwriter, and performer John Newman was also co-written and produced by Calvin Harris.
The song is stirring up a bit of controversy because of the interestingly applicable lyrics to the Hiddleswift-Harris situation.
“My heart speaks/I ain't seen you or been with you for weeks/But I see online that you've begun to be/A good girl and take trips with your boyfriend/Being attentive, continue to pretend.”
Also, how could anyone ignore the conveniently close sound of the first line of the song. Newman sings “Lowkey,” while all we hear is “Loki...”
No matter the drama that might surround this music, we love the single! John Newman’s voice is effortlessly silky and the music is perfect for a summer day at the beach.
