Today is the day! We knew new Glass Animals material was coming, with their mysterious teaser images being posted all throughout last week. A brand new track was revealed this morning titled "Life Itself," and it's just what we needed to hear.
It is quite the groovy track, in a unsuspectingly eerie way. Frontman Dave Bayley has naturally sultry vocals that spark curiosity and mischievous feels while listening. The production is bubbly and quite weird for a lack of a better description, making for a quirky, excellent tune. It's as colorful and majestic as their overall aesthetic -- Glass Animals are enigmatic. This track follows their 2014 release of ZABA, and previews their next body of work, How To Be A Human Being.
If this is the direction they're going in, we're in for a real treat.
Bayley explains, "'Life Itself' is about a guy who was born a bit strange, and struggles to become part of society. Because of that, he spends more time alone in his own head, getting stranger, and it becomes an awful cycle of doom."
