Last night, in celebration of Cinco De Mayo, AFROPUNK and Jose Cuervo hosted a very special event.
What better way to enjoy the holiday than with tequila on the rocks? Perhaps with lemonade?
Talent at last night's Williamsburg, Brooklyn event included SZA, DJ Moma, DJ Kitty Cash, DJ Lindsey, and DJ Underdog. The warehouse, Villain, was stacked with persons enthusiastic about art, music and fashion, as the crowd was dressed to impress and ready to celebrate Afropunk's main act, SZA.
A vintage vehicle, neon lighting and a massive disco ball illuminated the atmosphere as everyone gathered around and sipped from cups that read "Cuervo No Chaser." The mixed drink of choice was lemonade -- are these multiple Beyonce references a coincidence? Likely not.
#CuervoNoChaser, the newest initiative from Jose Cuervo, celebrates the spirit and attitude of the brand. It's about living in the moment and doing things authentically an unapologetically. As the original tequila, Jose Cuervo is the spirit of Cinco De Mayo and the only tequila that existed back on May 5 1861.
SZA captivated the crowd with a beautiful performance. Singing recognizable tunes off her album, Z, interacting with fans and jumping on top of the car for a photo opp, the atmosphere was nothing short of a spectacle.
