A California doctor spoke out about Prince today, regarding a set appointment to address his opioid addiction prior to his death.
Dr. Howard Kornfeld was set to begin treatment, as Prince claimed he needed help to fight his addiction to painkillers. Star Tribune continued on with the news, stating William Mauzy, a Minneapolis attorney working with the doctor's family, explained that Dr. Kornfeld called because Prince was “dealing with a grave medical emergency."
Unfortunately, the doctor was unable to meet with Prince on the allotted day, instead sending his son to the Paisley Park Estate. “The plan was to quickly evaluate his health and devise a treatment plan,” attorney Mauzy said.
He continued to explain that Dr. Kornfeld's son showed up at the estate, as planned, on April 21, and he was one of the few people on scene when Prince's body was found in the elevator. Mauzy also noted that it was actually Andrew Kornfeld himself who called for an ambulance that day.
