Lauryn Hill and TIDAL Host Pop Up Festival in Brooklyn

Are you in or around Brooklyn? Hopefully you are, as there's no time to travel or even plan for the festival that Lauryn Hill and TIDAL have decided to host.

Diaspora Calling!, a three-day charity festival, will be held this weekend only. Diaspora Calling! will "present a series of events, focusing on various forms of visual art, and featuring performances by artists from Africa, and throughout the African diaspora."

Acts set to perform include Hill, Stephen "Ragga" MarleyMachel MontanoJojo AbotStonebwoy and a hand full more. Not only will there be music, but art of all types. The lobby of the Kings Theatre will hold a full art gallery.

“Diaspora Calling! is a collection of works intended to celebrate the rich tapestry of artists from the African Diaspora while also illumining persistent and irrepressible themes... Even if we work independently, we are a resounding collective voice, both reconciling and embracing our relationship to history, our origins, our future and to ourselves," said Hill.
