Appropriately enough, Petra Collins is responsible for directing the retro-fused music video for Carly Rae Jepsen's "Boy Problems." The track was an undoubted stand out from her recently released album, E-Mo-Tion.
Watch as the visuals show cameo appearances from Rookie magazine editor-in-chief Tavi Gevinson. When speaking on the video, Jepsen said that Collins approached her about the video, as their aesthetics mesh just perfectly. Both gals are known for their 80's reminiscent artisty, and the final product was magic.
"Out of the blue, Petra reached out to ask if she could make a video for her favorite track of the album-Boy Problems," Jepsen explained. "What she didn’t know is that I had been following her online via Instagram and other outlets for a while and had become a HUGE fan of her photographs and artwork. I think she has a very gifted eye for a refreshing look at youth and beauty and the way she plays with color always stands out to me."
