We're unsure of what Vampire Weekend have been up to, whether it be laying low or creating a new record. However, we do know one thing - the nostalgic indi-rock band will be missing one of its most important components.
Today, instrumentalist Rostam Batmanglij has officially announced his leave from the band. Via Twitter, he stated, "my identity as a songwriter and producer... needs to stand on its own." "I'm no longer a member of [Vampire Weekend]," wrote Batmanglij, "but... Ezra [Koenig, the band's lead singer and lyricist] and I will continue to collaborate on future projects and future VW songs."
