Macklemore, Daft Punk, Lorde among multiple Grammy winners

Daft Punk took home five Grammy awards, including Record of the Year ("Get Lucky") and Album of the Year honors (Random Access Memories). The robot duo also took home the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance honor for "Get Lucky" and remained silent while Pharrell Williams spoke for the pair throughout the night. The ceremony took place Sunday night (January 25) at the Staples Center, in Los Angeles, California.

Lorde took home a pair of awards for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Royals." Macklemore and Ryan Lewis won four Grammys, including one for Best New Artist, and three in the rap category (Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song -- "Thrift Shop" (featuring Wanz) -- and best Rap Album -- The Heist). The pair also performed "Same Love", during which Queen Latifah officiated the wedding of more than 30 couples, and Madonna completed the ceremony with a stripped-down performance of "Open Your Heart."

With most of the awards being presented prior to the start of the televised portion of the broadcast, television viewers saw a number of memorable performances, including the pairing of Beatles Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr on McCartney's "Queenie Eye" (from his latest album, New). The Beatles received the Lifetime Achievement Award Saturday night (January 27).

The show opened with a performance of Beyoncé's "Drunk In Love," and featured a cameo from her husband, Jay-Z, who later took home a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Holy Grail" with Justin Timberlake.
